MANUEL FACCHINI “METAMORPHOSIS” - FW 16/17

For Autumn/Winter 2016 Manuel Facchini explores sculpture and the portrayal of movement within art and architecture. The contrasts and the similiarities. The collection incorporates influences from British sculptor Richard Sweeney and the Gothic architecture of Michael Hansmeyer, both of whom sculpt extraordinary forms which create the impressiono f movement. Facchini’s Metamorphosis captures this notion, utilizing shape, line, texture and structure to create a kinetic optical manipulation.

Bold graphic forms are blended with soft, sumptuous devoré and lavish woolen knits. Cocoon-like outerwear and sleek black leathers are punture with circular eyelets in washed gold, silver and gun metal, they adorn sleeves and necklines and manipolate the collections hemlines to emphasise the asymmetry seen throughout. These powerful proportions are bilance with trousers; straight, tight, or subtly flared. Black and white dominates the collection via optical graphics with touches of purple and deep red adding dimension and tecture.
